LEAD: Local Employment in Africa for Development
Overall Goal
Shaqodoon Organization's LEAD II program aims to foster a culture of entrepreneurship in countries by engaging with local authorities, NGOs, private sector organizations, and other stakeholders. Through this collaboration, the program strengthens existing entrepreneurship structures and initiates partnerships with academic institutions to integrate entrepreneurship education into public education systems. By focusing on sustainable youth employment in growth sectors, particularly with a special emphasis on young women, the LEAD II program provides coaching, training, and facilitates access to finance and markets for existing and new entrepreneurs. Additionally, it promotes entrepreneurship among young people through global entrepreneurship events.

Moreover, 39 individuals received training in farming and livestock management, promoting sustainable agricultural practices and supporting rural livelihoods.
The previous success of the LEAD program serves as a testament to Shaqodoon's dedication to promoting entrepreneurship and empowering young individuals. Shaqodoon Organization is committed to implementing a similar initiative in Kenya. Recognizing the importance of fostering entrepreneurship, providing access to finance and markets, and promoting entrepreneurship education, the organization aims to empower young entrepreneurs and support SMEs in Kenya's Northeastern region. By replicating the achievements of the LEAD program, Shaqodoon Kenya seeks to create a conducive environment for entrepreneurship, drive job creation, and contribute to the economic growth and development of the region.
