Youth Centers
Shaqodoon Organization remains dedicated to promoting gender and social inclusion in Kenya, particularly in the Northeastern region. Recognizing the unique challenges faced by youth and women in the area, Shaqodoon Kenya is committed to establishing similar safe spaces and youth centers to address their needs effectively. Through counseling, training programs, outreach initiatives, and healthcare services, we aim to empower young individuals, enhance their skills, and promote their social inclusion. By replicating the success achieved in Somaliland, the organization strives to break barriers, foster independence, and create opportunities for the youth and women of Northeastern Kenya.
LEAD: Local Employment in Africa for Development
In 2022 alone, Shaqodoon Organization's LEAD program in Somaliland and Somalia has achieved remarkable milestones. A total of 181 SMEs received coaching in essential business practices, empowering them to thrive and contribute to the local economy. The program also facilitated internships for 140 youth, providing them with valuable work experience and expanding their opportunities for future employment. Additionally, through the program, 10 strong business plans were developed, showcasing the entrepreneurial potential within the region. Moreover, 39 individuals received training in farming and livestock management, promoting sustainable agricultural practices and supporting rural livelihoods.
Bits Digital Design School
Inspired by the success of the digital design schools, Shaqodoon Organization is committed to implementing a similar achievement in Kenya. Recognizing the importance of equipping underprivileged youth in Kenya's Northeastern region with digital skills, we aim to establish digital design schools to transform lives and empower young individuals. By offering specialized ICT training, entrepreneurship support, and life skills development, we strive to create opportunities for the youth to secure meaningful employment and make positive contributions to their communities.
ILED: Accelerated Socio-Economic Empowerment of Youth in Somalia/Land
Shaqodoon Organization takes great pride in the successful implementation of the ILED project. This project has played a pivotal role in building peace, stability, and socio-economic empowerment for the youth. Through various interventions, including skills development, income generation, entrepreneurship, and promoting engagement in sports and culture, the ILED project has provided young individuals with the tools and opportunities to realize their full potential as agents of positive change.
